API Subscription Service

  • Service Overview: ResultsZA offers API access through subscription-based billing. Monthly subscription plans with tiered API call limits (Starter: 300 calls/month, Basic: 1,500 calls/month, Professional: 6,000 calls/month, Unlimited: unlimited calls/month subject to fair use). API call limits reset automatically each billing cycle.
  • Subscription Tiers and Pricing:
    • Starter: R149/month - 300 API calls per month
    • Basic: R299/month - 1,500 API calls per month
    • Professional: R599/month - 6,000 API calls per month
    • Unlimited: R1000/month - Unlimited API calls per month (fair use policy and rate limits apply)
  • Fair Use Policy (Unlimited Plan):
    • The Unlimited plan is subject to a fair use policy designed to protect service availability for all users.
    • API rate limits are enforced (currently 60 requests per minute per API key) to prevent abuse.
    • If the rate limit is exceeded, the API key enters a 5-minute cooldown period during which all requests will be blocked. Normal access resumes automatically after the cooldown expires.
    • Prohibited activities include but are not limited to: automated scraping, reselling API data, excessive automated harvesting, and any use that degrades service for other users.
    • ResultsZA reserves the right to throttle, suspend, or terminate API keys that are found to be in violation of the fair use policy.
  • Payment and Activation:
    • Subscription requests require payment confirmation before activation.
    • An invoice will be generated upon subscription request. Payment must be completed and confirmed by our team before API access is activated.
    • Subscriptions are activated manually by our administrative team after payment verification.
  • Billing Cycle and Renewal:
    • Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance.
    • API call limits reset automatically at the start of each billing cycle.
    • Renewal is allowed starting 7 days before subscription expiry or during the grace period.
    • Users cannot renew the same tier subscription more than 7 days before expiry (to maximize value of current subscription).
  • Grace Period:
    • After subscription expiration, users have a 7-day grace period to use remaining API calls and renew.
    • During the grace period, users can continue using remaining API calls from their previous billing cycle.
    • After the 7-day grace period ends, all unused API calls are permanently lost and cannot be recovered.
    • Subscriptions that are not renewed within the grace period will be marked as expired and API access will be suspended.
  • API Call Top-ups:
    • Subscribers who exhaust their monthly call allowance before their billing cycle resets may purchase a top-up package to add calls for the remainder of the month.
    • Available top-up packages: 50 calls for R60, 150 calls for R150, and 300 calls for R249.
    • Top-up calls are added to the subscriber's existing monthly limit upon admin activation of the payment.
    • Top-up calls reset at the same time as the monthly usage counter and do not carry over to the next billing cycle.
    • Top-up purchases are non-refundable once activated.
    • Top-up packages are priced at a higher per-call rate than subscription tiers and are intended as a short-term convenience option, not a substitute for a higher subscription tier.
  • Upgrades and Pro-rata Pricing:
    • Users can upgrade to a higher subscription tier at any time.
    • When upgrading mid-cycle on an active subscription purchased for more than one month, a pro-rata charge applies. The charge is calculated as the price difference between the current tier and the new tier, multiplied by the fraction of days remaining in the current billing cycle.
    • For single-month subscriptions, renewals, or upgrades from an expired or grace-period subscription, the full monthly price of the new tier applies.
    • Upgrades take effect immediately upon admin activation of the payment.
    • The subscription end date is preserved when a pro-rata upgrade is activated. For full-price upgrades, the billing cycle starts from the activation date.
  • Downgrades:
    • Users may downgrade to a lower subscription tier at any time by purchasing the lower tier plan.
    • Upon activation of a downgrade, any unused API calls from the current higher tier are forfeited immediately. No partial refund or credit is issued for unused calls.
    • The new billing cycle starts from the downgrade activation date.
  • Cancellation and Refunds:
    • Users can cancel their subscription at any time, but no refunds will be issued for the current billing period.
    • Unused API calls are not refundable.
    • Subscriptions remain active until the end of the current billing period, after which access will be suspended.
  • Service Downtime: While every effort will be made to ensure uninterrupted service, we do not guarantee that the API or related services will always be operational. In the event of service downtime, we will apply reasonable efforts to restore functionality as soon as possible. No refunds or extensions will be provided for service interruptions.
  • User Responsibility for Security:
    • Users are solely responsible for keeping their API keys secure and confidential.
    • ResultsZA will not be held liable if an unauthorized party gains access to your API account or data due to compromised credentials.
    • If you suspect your API key has been compromised, you should generate a new API key immediately.
